Selina had unzipped her suit and lowered it down to her waist so Alfred could work on her wound. Alfred was blushing a little he worked. Selina watched the blood pack drip into her arm.
“Lucky you had this extra blood here. I’d probably be dead by now if it wasn’t for that, huh?”

“I don’t know about that, ma’am. It looks like the bullet missed the major artery and vein, and, with any luck, there won’t even be a scar on your prefect body.” She smiled.

“Thanks for the compliment, though you’re a little old for me.” Alfred chuckled nervously. The sight of Selina only wearing her strapless bra above her waist was almost too much for him. “I…I have to ask you something, but I don’t want you to tell Bruce, okay?”

“Alright, you have my word I’ll never tell him.” She knew she could trust him.

“Does Bruce bring in pimps and hookers?”

“Not usually. Prostitutes aren’t usually…on the level for Master Bruce to bring in to the police. Pimps, on the other hand, tend to be fuel the crime in Gotham in one way or another. He can’t ignore them and brings them in.”

“I see…But has he brought in…underage prostitutes?”

“Yes, for their own protection. Why are you…”

“Did he bring one in named ‘Holly’? She would be about…fifteen. Not much taller than five feet, blonde hair, blue eyes. She was kind of weird…a pot head...”

“I’m sorry, ma’am, but I don’t ever see the people Master Bruce takes to the police. You should probably ask Bruce himself.” She nodded.

“Well…I was going to have to have this conversation with him sooner or later…”

“What conversation’s that, ma’am?”

“It’s…kind of personal, Alfred.”

“Alright, I’m not going to put my nose where it doesn’t belong.” He cut the stitch string and started wrapping her wound in a bandage. “I’m done here, ma’am. Just let the transfusion here end and you’ll be good as new.” She nodded and put her injured arm back into her suit’s sleeve.

“Will the stitches hold through the usual wear and tear?”

“In yours and Master Bruce’s line of work, yes.”

“Good,” with the blood pack empty, Selina pulled the IV from her arm and finished putting her suit on, “because I’m going out to help Bruce.”

“Miss Kyle, Master Bruce told you to stay here.”

“I know what he said, but last time I checked, Bruce doesn’t TELL me to do anything.” She walked to the elevator. “At least not until he starts paying me.” She pressed the button and started the elevator up. Alfred knew if she got to the mansion, he’d never be able to keep her. He scrambled to the computer and pressed the lock-down button. The elevator stopped and started back down to the cave, but when the doors opened, it was empty.

Barbara, Gordon’s niece, felt cold air against her face and opened her eyes. She could tell she was very high up, on top of a sky scrapper. When she saw the bat-signal, she knew she was on top of the Police HQ. In front of her stood Bane and the Red Hood.
“Why do I have to baby sit the little brat? I’d rather be hunting down the Bat.”

“The Bat will come to us I guarantee it. That’s why we have to split the hostages up. Multiple targets, my muscle-bound friend.” Bane looked at him, perplexed.

“I thought you said you’d kill them if he showed around the hostages.”

“That I did, but since when have threats ever stopped the Batman?”

“Yes, he has never backed down from a threat. So I should expect him to arrive any time now?” Red Hood scoffed, questioning Bane’s intelligence in the back of his mind. He started heading into the building.

“You’ve got it.” Bane was alone on the roof top with Barbara. He picked her up by the collar and laughed as she struggled to get free.

“The men at Santa Prisca would kill to have you. Then again, they’d kill to have any fresh meat.” He laughed again and reached for her face. “You are a pretty little thing…Probably haven’t even hit puberty yet…” He ran the back of her fingers along the side of her face. She couldn’t stand it anymore and bit his hand as hard as she could. Bane retched his hand back in pain. “Little bitch!” He slammed her against the roof. She screamed out in agony, skidding until she hit the bat-signal. “If Red Hood hadn’t ordered me not to…” He looked down at her and back up at the bat-signal. “You like the Batman, no?” She was too afraid what he’d do if she didn’t answer him, so she just nodded. “Well, you’re about to be a lot closer to him.”

Batman was quickly approaching the Police HQ as he saw the bat-signal streak into the sky. He glanced at it as he ran, stopping near the HQ and looking directly at it. Something seemed off about it. As he looked at it, he quickly realized what was wrong with it and grit his teeth.

Gordon saw the signal as he raced towards the station. He stopped briefly and stared at it, quickly making out the shape of a person in the shadow.
“No…No!” He floored the gas pedal, the tires pealing out and squealing as the car streaked forward.

Bane laughed, enjoying the pain he was causing Barbara by chaining her to the bat-signal. She was sweating profusely and being burned by the metal, but all she could do was groan in agony.
“Look! Now you’re a regular Bat-Girl!” Bane heard a slight whistle sound of something cutting through the air. He put his hand out and caught it before it hit the bat-signal, clenching his hand around it in pain. He opened his hand and realized it was a batarang and that it had buried itself in his hand. He plucked it out as Batman came out of the shadows. “At last, the legendary Batman shows himself.”

“Cut her down!” Bane laughed.

“You don’t scare me, ‘Batman’. If you want her down, you’ll have to do it yourself.” He turned a knob on the device on his wrist, making his muscles quickly surge and expand. He clenched his entire body and lunged at Batman. He quickly jumped out of the way, flicking his wrist as he did and embedding three large batarangs in him. Bane grit his teeth and rushed him, swing down as he did. He quickly sidestepped the blow, making Bane bury his fist in the concrete of the roof. Batman quickly used this to his advantage, pummeling Bane as hard as he could, but having no real effect. Bane swung his free arm and knocked him away, ripping his hand out of the concrete. “You’re stronger than I gave you credit for,” he turned the knob up further, “but it ends here.”

Gordon finally arrived at the station, drawing his pistol and running inside. There were half a dozen men in the lobby and they fired at him as he came in. Gordon ducked for cover as the lights went out in the entire building. Gordon readied himself to take out the men, making sure his pistol was fully loaded.
“Okay, Jim…” he whispered to himself, “they’re not crooked cops. All of THEM were taken out going after Batman…” He stopped talking, hearing screams and realizing they weren’t firing at him anymore. Suddenly, the room went eerily silent. He came out of his shelter and walked towards one of the unconscious men, picking up a flashlight he had. All of the men were beaten to bloody pulps and unconscious. Gordon figured he knew who it was and continued on. He didn’t worry about his back or sides, just forcing his way forward. Suddenly, a man burst out of a door he was passing and pressed the barrel of a gun against his head. He didn’t have time to react before he heard a crack and the man’s arm was pulled away before he could fire. A black blur pounced on the man and savagely took him out. “Thanks for the…” he put the flashlight on the shape and quickly realized it wasn’t Batman, “…cover?”

“No problem, glad I could help.” Gordon was shocked to see the Catwoman in front of him and stared at her briefly. “What?”

“What are you doing here?”

“Helping you out. Figured you and the Bat will need all the help you can get.”

“Aren’t you one of them?”

“Hell no! Bastards tried to kill me!” He instantly realized he said the wrong thing at the wrong time.

“Alright, alright. I’m sorry.” She shook off what he said.

“Let’s get going. They have your wife and kid, right?”

“Wife and niece, yeah.” A high-pitched scream of a woman ripped through the hallway. Gordon didn’t wait for a response from Catwoman and ran towards the scream as fast as he could.

Batman was barely able to keep ahead of Bane’s attacks. His own attacks were having little affect on Bane, his wounds from the batarangs already healing, but Batman was keeping his cool. Bane was making sure he was between him and Barbara at all times, no matter what Batman did. Batman swung on his arm, flipping to Bane’s back and slapping on a device and slamming in a pair of batarangs so Bane wouldn’t know what exactly he was doing. Just hearing a loud squeal, Bane grabbed him by the shoulder and threw him against the roof. He reached to his back and pulled the batarangs out, dropping them to the ground.
“Is that the best you ca…” Suddenly, a huge swarm of bats engulfed Bane as Batman stood up. Bane yelled out in more rage than pain. “You want her that badly?” He grabbed the bat-signal, ripping it off the roof. “Then you can go fet…” As Bane went to throw the bat-signal at Batman, a brown blur streaked into him. The device he had put on Bane’s back called all of the bats in Gotham, including the Man-Bats. All five of the freed Man-bats began savagely attacking him as the bat-signal flew towards Batman. He jumped out of the way of it, but grabbed onto it as it passed, getting pulled off the roof with it. Almost in a single instant, he pulled out a batarang, used it to break the chains around Barbara, grabbed her, pulling her close, firing his grappling-gun to the roof and flying off the bat-signal before it crashed to the street bellow. As they streaked towards the roof, Barbara put her arms around his neck, embracing him tightly, even after they were on the roof.
Bane and the Man-Bats were evenly matched. He had killed two before Batman had even gotten back to the roof with Barbara. He broke the neck of one as another one slashed into him deeply. He groaned in agony and slammed it through the roof. He swung his arm and broke the last man-bat’s arm. Critically injured, the Man-bat roared and lunged into Bane, knocking them both off the roof to the street bellow. Barbara was shocked to see it all and turned to Batman.
“Do you think they’re…”

“The Man-Bat, yes. Bane, no. He’s not walking away from that, but he’ll survive.” Barbara nodded and let go of him, thinking she was strong enough to stand, but she crashed to the rooftop. She tried to hide her pain in front of him. He made sure the roof was safe for her to be on.

“Where do you think all of the police are?”

“What?” The question sparked something in the back of his head.

“I mean, all of the cops weren’t corrupt. All of them didn’t go to try to take you out. So where did they…” She turned around and saw the Batman was gone.

Gordon could hear his wife screaming over the sound of Catwoman mopping up the rest of the men in the building up and followed it to its source. He kicked down the door to Loeb’s office and saw the Red Hood beating his wife, about to stab her. Gordon fired into the air to stop him.
“Stab her and I’ll blow your brains out!” The Red Hood laughed, holding the blade to her neck. Catwoman appeared behind Gordon.

“If either of you try anything, I’ll slash her throat.” He cut her slightly to show he was serious. “Now, throw your weapons to me.” They hesitated. “NOW!” He cut her again.

“Do we…” Catwoman asked Gordon almost silently.

“Do. It.” He threw his pistol to Red Hood’s feet. Catwoman followed it with her whip.

“FOOL! Now you have nothing to keep me from…” In a flash, Batman burst through the large window behind Red Hood and punched him with blinding speed. He stumbled backwards, dropping the knife and Barb as Batman hit him again and again. Barb screamed at the sight of Batman’s furious assault. The Red Hood collapsed to the ground, battered and bloody. Gordon rushed to his wife and freed her hands and legs. She embraced him, crying.
“Jim! Thank god…” She kissed him.

“Are you alright?”

“Not really, but I will be…what happened to the kids?”

“Junior’s safe with Montoya, and Barbara…” He looked at Batman.

“Barbara’s fine. She’s on the roof.”

“Barbara’s fine.” Catwoman swaggered over to Batman and the Red Hood.

“So, who’s under the dome?” Batman grabbed the Red Hood’s mask and pulled it off.

“Loeb.” He put the mask on the ground and quickly tied Loeb with cable he had in his utility belt. Loeb chuckled.

“So, the ‘great detective’ finally figures it out? Bravo…” Batman knocked him out. Gordon recovered from the brief shock he had and spoke up.

“When’d you piece it together?”

“It was something Barbara noticed. The building was empty of police. Only Loeb has the authority to send absolutely everyone home.” He took a small CD out of his belt and gave it to him. “That’s all the evidence against Loeb I have. Until now, I’ve been thinking Loeb was just under Red Hood’s thumb, but that has all the information against both personas. It’s enough to put him and his underlings away for a very long time.”

“Good.”

“Call the rest of your men back. If they move quick, they can get all of Loeb’s men and the corrupt cops that came after me.”

“Right…” He picked up his pistol and leaned in close to Batman. “What should we do about Catwoman here?” He whispered to him.

“Let her go. We have bigger problems than a jewel thief.”

“Right.” Batman jumped out the window and glided away on his cape. Catwoman wrapped her whip around her waist and smiled.

“I’d hate to overstay my welcome, so…Ta.”  She flipped out the window, following Batman as he left. The first thing Gordon did was call 911, using the emergency services to get orders out to all of the cops in Gotham, as he and Barb went to the roof to get Barbara. Gordon tried to push the door open, but he had to really tackle the door to get it opened.
“Uncle Jim!” She embraced him, crying slightly. “Thank god you’re here.”

“Hey, it’s okay now.” He put his arms around her and she gasped in pain.

“Watch the burns.”

“Sor…Whoa…” Gordon went slack jawed as he saw the massacre with dead Man-bats littering the roof.

“Yeah! Batman used them to attack Bane while he saved me. If he hadn’t…I’d probably be dead right now. But Batman saved me!” Gordon smiled.

“So, you still like him after every thing that happened?”

“Uh…yeah. Probably more so. I mean, he did save my life, and you should have been here to see him fight! If I can learn to fight HALF as good as that, I’ll be happy.”

“We’ll get you in some classes then.”

“Uh…” Barb spoke up. “…What happened?”

“It’s a long story. I’ll…we’ll tell you on the way to the ambulance waiting outside.”

Batman stopped and waited for Catwoman to catch up. He didn’t have to wait long.
“I thought I told you to stay in the cave.”

“Hey! While you were playing tea party with the girl on the roof, I had to do all the dirty work protecting Gordon, you know.” She looked into his eyes, furious, but saw genuine concern in his eyes. “Alfred did say the stitches would hold through almost everything. So, what could it hurt?” Batman grit his teeth, but let go.

“You did help Jim when I couldn’t.”

“See?” She kissed him. “It all worked out in the end.” He put his hands on her hips.

“I suppose it did.” They kissed deeply. The Tumbler pulled up in the street bellow. Catwoman looked at it.

“Looks like the ‘Service Engine Soon’ light’s on.”

“It’s all just superficial damage to the armor. Alfred can just hammer out the dents, and she’ll be as good as new.” The roof of the Tumbler opened and he jumped down to it.

“Was that a joke…” She mumbled and smiled. “There’s hope for you yet.” She did a flip down to the Tumbler bellow. As soon as she was inside, he closed the roof and floored the car.

Oswald Cobblepot was sitting in the back room of his lounge, counting money. His two bodyguards, women beautiful enough to be supermodels, were standing on either side of the door.
“So, ladies, feel like earning a bonus tonight?” One shuttered with the thought of being with him. The job paid well enough to guard him, but the thought of sleeping with him almost literally made her skin crawl. The other one was a former drug addict, whose life was saved by Cobblepot, was willing to do anything for him.
“No bonus required, Mister Cobblepot.” She walked towards him. The other guard was always surprised when she would volunteer like that.

“I’ll…I’ll just stand guard outside.” She left the room and shut the door. “How she could be attracted to him is beyond me…” She mumbled to herself.
Oswald kissed the guard that stayed as she sat down on his desk. They kissed again as he ran his hands along her body, but were interrupted by the guard outside yelling.
“What the hell are you!? Stop where you are!” The sound of gunshots rang out, followed by a strange whir sound and her scream. Suddenly, she crashed through the door, frozen in a block of ice. The guard drew her pistol, but a beam streaked through the door and froze her hand and the gun. She screamed out in agony, collapsing to the floor.

“Bunny!” Victor pounded his way into the room, holding the freeze gun in his hands. “Who the hell are you!?”

“You may call me Mister Freeze, Cobblepot.” He pointed the freeze gun at Cobblepot’s head. “I’m familiar with your underworld connections. You will help me gather men, or you’ll suffer the same fate as her.” He gestured to the frozen guard.

“I don’t see why I should help you. You haven’t been that hospitable of a guest.” He started the freeze gun.

“Make no mistake, Cobblepot, you are replaceable, and I will not hesitate to kill you…” He pointed the gun at Bunny. “…or her.”

“Okay! Alright! I’ll help you, just don’t kill Bunny!”

“Good. You have twenty-four hours to get all of the men you can together.” Victor left the club. With him gone, Cobblepot picked up the nearest phone and dialed 911.

“Don’t worry, Bunny. I’ll get you some help…I’ll…I’ll do something.” She nodded, gritting her teeth to keep from screaming out in agony.

Gordon and his family had to go to the hospital for treatment, mostly for Barbara. Montoya met Gordon there, bringing the baby with her. Barb took the baby into her arms, ecstatic to see him again.
“Glad to see you made it through all that alive, Chief.”

“It’s good to see you, too, Montoya.”

“How’s the family?”

“Barbara’s burned pretty bad from ‘Bane’ chaining her to the signal…probably going to have its bat ears on her back like a brand now, but she’s fine. Loeb roughed Barb up pretty good, but she’s fine, too.”

“That’s good. Is Barbara too upset about the whole bat-signal thing?”

“No, not at all, really. If anything, it’s made her little crush on Batman grow into a HUGE crush. Hopefully, she’ll get over him soon.”

“I don’t know, Chief. Most women have that one dark, brooding guy they always have a crush on. Well, unless they’re…” Gordon got where she was going with it.

“So…her crush on the Bat’s really nothing to worry about, Montoya. You know how teenage girls are.”

“Right, Chief.”

Bruce and Selina were lying in bed, under a sheet. Selina was nuzzled up close to him, running her fingers along a scar on his chest.
“Bruce…before you left to help the Commissioner, I told you that I’d tell you everything about my past.” She looked down at the bed sheets. “Actually, I should have told you a while ago…” Bruce looked into her eyes.

“You don’t have…”

“Bruce, if you can trust me with you being the Bat, I can trust you with my past.” She sighed and looked back into his eyes. “I have to warn you, it’s not the happiest tale ever t…” he just stared into her eyes, “I guess that’s not really a problem for you, huh? Well, to be straight to the point, I use to be a prostitute…for a long time, actually. Pretty much since my thirteenth birthday. My parents were killed when I was eleven, and the foster home my sister and I were forced into…The ‘father’ use to beat and sexually abuse us, the mother would beat us for lying if we told her…so, I ran before my twelfth birthday. I tried to get my sister to come with me, but there was another, younger girl…the creep’s step-daughter…who she was trying to protect. But, at this point, there’s no way in hell I was going to turn back, for anything. I ended up on the street, and I couldn’t go to the cops, or they’d take me to another foster home. So…I did what I could to survive. Eventually, a pimp I knew just as ‘Stan the Man’ found me and took me in. As you can guess, pimps don’t just give out free shelter, so I had to carry my own weight, and I’d do ANYTHING at that point to get off the street, and no one could do anything as bad as ‘father’…” Selina cleared her throat, not sure how Bruce was handling the news. “I’d…I wouldn’t do anything…triple-X rated, and I wouldn’t work for a high, which if probably why I was so lucky. Fortunately, the ‘clientele’ would still pay extra for the ‘bare bones’ stuff, as young as I was. Once I was legal…and couldn’t lie about it anymore, I moved into the dominatrix stuff, which is how I got so good with the whip. Paid better than before. Not enough that I could quit, but enough that I could cut back.”

“So, what finally DID make you quit?” Selina looked down, her eyes welling up with tears slightly.

“I was coming out of a leather shop one day when I saw a leg sticking out of a dumpster. There’s that old cliché, curiosity killed the cat, so I had to look. There was a dead woman in the dumpster…And even though it had been thirteen years since I had seen her, I knew it was my little sister. I followed the case, KNOWING that the ONLY PERSON who could have killed her, the ONLY suspect they had, was ‘father’, and they let him walk! He had the right connections, so he got to walk away from murder, his step-daughter hanging off his arm…and Stan was forcing me to pay rent on my back, making me do stuff I didn’t want to do and pressing my luck…so, I left. I left before the life and the town could get me, too. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I traveled the world, training with jewel thieves and street fighters to become the best thief in the world, to get the life my sister and I deserved. And, I did, making millions upon MILLIONS off the underworld…and the occasional museum or billionaire, granted.” She said, not wanting to lie to him. “But, it was all people who deserved it. Well, I became known as ‘the Cat’, so I ran with it, and became the Catwoman. Came back here, found ‘father’ and cut him up. The only reason I didn’t kill the bastard was his step-daughter stood between us…with their child in her arms.”

“And the Pimp you sent to the ER?”

“That’s another long story…In my last couple years of my career, I met a girl named Holly in the same situation I was in. She was one of the reasons I had to start paying rent with sex, because I…bribed Stan to keep her, and once he got a taste, he got hooked and started making demands. He forced her to do some…unpleasant things, too. So, when I left, I tried to get Holly to leave, too, but at that point, she was hooked on some drug Stan dealing, so she couldn’t. I wish I hadn’t now, but I left her behind.” She sighed. “That’s the only mistake I REALLY regret out of my entire life. And…I have to ask you…”

“You want to know if I’ve seen her.”

“Yeah…She’s probably only…fifteen or sixteen. Last time I saw her, she wasn’t even five feet tall, had blonde hair and green eyes, pretty thin, but not really sickly-thin.”

“Sounds…vaguely familiar. Wouldn’t she have been with her old pimp?”

“No. I checked. She drew the line at something, and he kicked her out. It had to have been pretty horrible to make her say no…” She wiped away a tear that escaped her eye. “I’m sure she’s still out there…some where…” She looked into his eyes again. “God…I can’t imagine what you think of me now…” He kissed her deeply, pulling her close.

“You’ve forgotten who you’re talking to, Selina. I’m not going to throw away what we have over your past.” He kissed her again. “I’m not going to throw this away over that.”

“Bruce…” They kissed again. Bruce kissed her neck, making Selina smile because she knew Bruce was telling the truth.

Cobblepot and Bunny were waiting in his club for Victor to return. Bunny lost the hand he froze and was still crying over the loss of Dove. Fortunately for Cobblepot’s underworld connections, he had enough connections and money to cover up what happened and avoid a police search of his club.
“Don’t worry, Bunny. We’ll be free of this…‘Freeze’ character shortly.”

“What about Dove?! He killed her!”

“I know, but if giving him these men will keep him from killing you, then  say so be it.”

“He might as well have killed me…”

“Shhh…We’ll find a way to take care of your hand, and we’ll even get vengeance on Freeze for killing Dove.”

“How?”

“These men won’t work for free, and I’m not paying them to work for him. Their rabid, and he’ll barely be able to keep them under control. The first time he’s late paying them, he’s a dead man.” Bunny smiled.

“Good. Bastard deserves what he…” They heard a door get smashed open and knew Victor was there. As he came into the room, Cobblepot greeted him warmly.

“Hello, Mister Freeze. Glad to see you here. If you’ll just follow me, I’ll show you to where your men are.”

“Good. There’s much work to be done.”

Selina woke up to find Bruce already gone. She was hoping he’d still be there, but thought she understood why he left. She got dressed and left the mansion, going about her usual day. First, she had to go back to her condo and get the jewelry she had stolen. She opened the door.
“Isis? ISIS? Where are you, girl?” Her cat finally came running to her. “Hey, girl. Sorry I wasn’t home last night, but I…”

“Se-lina?”

“W…who’s there?”

“You don’t remember me, Se-lina?” A girl dressed in tight fitting clothing came out of the shadows. Selina couldn’t believe her eyes.

“H…Holly?” She blinked and rubbed her eyes. “Holly!”

“Se-LINA!” Holly rushed over to her and they embraced. Selina held her tightly, making sure she wasn’t dreaming, crying slightly. “I hope you don’t care, but I helped myself to your food…”

“Of course I don’t mind. I’m just happy you’re alive! I thought I’d never see you again.”

“I thought you had left me, Se-lina…”

“I didn’t…well…I did, but I’m never going to leave you again.” She kissed the side of her face. “I love you, Holly…”

“I love you, too, Se-lina.”  Selina finally let go of her, but kept her hands on her shoulders. “You smell pretty.”

“Thanks. Though we should probably get you a bath and some clean clothes.”

“You saying I smell bad?”

“Yeah, actually, I am.” Holly smelled herself.

“Yeah, you’re right…” She hit herself in the forehead. “I almost forgot! The Bat gave me this to give to you!” She pulled a note out of her bra and gave it to Selina. “I’m going to go jump in the tub.” Selina nodded and unfolded the note.
S.~
A simple search turned up your friend here. She’s been living on the street for some time now. I did some health tests on her. She’s not pregnant, free of any STDs, and shouldn’t be addicted to any drugs. She was dehydrated and hungry, but I told her she could help herself to any thing she needed in your place, so she should be fine. She’s officially in your care.
~B.

Selina smiled.
“Bruce…” Selina walked back to her bedroom. Holly was in the bathroom off it, and was already in the tub. It was almost overflowing with bubbles and water, so Selina went in and turned the water off.

“The water feels so good, Se-lina…”

“Just don’t flood the apartment.” She sat down on the edge of the sink. “So, the Batman brought you here?” Holly went under the water and came back up, scrubbing her hair.

“Yeah, after he took me to some quack.” She smiled and put her head on the edge of the tub and closed her eyes. “This is heaven…” Selina left the room and got her cat suit on before she went back into the bathroom. “Holy hell! You’re the Catwoman?! That’s awesome!”

“Yeah, but it’s a secret. Make sure you keep it that way.”

“Of course! I mean, we’ll practically sisters. You’re safe with me.”

“Of course…” Selina smiled. “I have to go out real quick. Stay here, and we’ll get caught up when I get back.”

“Sure thing, Se-lina.”

Batman was making his rounds, stopping when he heard something behind him. He turned around and was instantly face-to-face with Catwoman. She put her arms around him.
“I love you, Bruce.” She whispered to him. He put his arms around her and held her close. Selina understood what he meant without him saying anything.
My Novels

Ahead of schedule for a change. Yeah for me. For the record, two things are relatively debatable in this chapter. The first thing is the Freeze Gun. When the freeze gun hits something, it freezes it, of course. And when you freeze something living, it DIES. None of this 'Oh, if we get him out of the ice, he'll have a cold, but he'll be fine' crap from B & R. It's all complicated, but if you've had food get freezer burn, you've experienced it yourself. The other thing is Selina Kyle's past. All I have to say is Batman: Year One. Who am I to argue with classic Miller? So, just stating for the record, real world science, Year One, my story.
