Literature Text

In a midnight dark room,
Two shining blades clash.
One fighting for a woman he loves,
The other fighting for her master,
who captured and tortured the other’s love.
The arcs of steel dancing in an intricate battle,
Slicing through the air with a gentle ring.
Blades clashing and ringing, glinting off light into the room.
A kick, and one of the blades sails backwards.
He regains his footing, parrying another lightning strike.
A swirl and a whistle. A world comes crashing down.
Final, desperate lunge.
A pierce, an invasion of steel, freeing tears of crimson.

The pointless battle ends in blood.

The blade doesn’t know why he spares her life.
Perhaps he can’t bring himself to kill someone in front of his love.
Perhaps he felt he had done enough and she was defenseless.
Both of these were partially true,
But, as he carried his love out of the room,
He left, never knowing the true reason why.
My Novels

Here's the final draft of my poem. I think it turned out well, describing a battle coming up in Promech: Guardian. I've been told it has good imagery. So, tell me what you think and enjoy.
